Where We Are

NTFP-EP Philippines works alongside Indigenous Peoples and local communities across diverse forest landscapes in the Philippines. Our presence is rooted in long-standing relationships with communities, member and partner organizations, and networks working to sustain forest-based livelihoods, uphold rights, safeguard culture, and conserve biodiversity.

Through landscape-based programs, community partnerships, and advocacy initiatives, our work spans Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. These engagements reflect different forms of collaboration across communities and landscapes, evolving over time according to local priorities and program needs.

Luzon

Sierra Madre

In Rizal and Quezon provinces, we work with Indigenous Peoples, local communities, and partners to strengthen forest governance, community rights, resource management, and advocacy for the protection of forest landscapes.

Palawan

Our work and partnerships across Palawan include Aborlan, Bataraza, Brooke’s Point, Dumaran, Narra, Puerto Princesa City, Quezon, Rizal, San Vicente, Sofronio Española, and Taytay.

Together with Indigenous communities and local partners, we support ancestral domain rights, sustainable NTFP-based livelihoods and community enterprises, and community-led forest conservation.

Visayas

In Aklan and Negros Occidental, our work with communities and partners focuses on strengthening forest-based livelihoods, local capacities, community enterprises, and sustainable resource management.

Mindanao

In Bukidnon and Misamis Oriental, we work alongside Indigenous communities and partners on forest tenure and governance, community-based conservation and resource management, and the safeguarding of cultural knowledge and practices.

Schools of Living Tradition (SLTs)

Schools of Living Traditions (SLTs) are spaces for intergenerational learning, where Indigenous knowledge holders, elders, artisans, and cultural practitioners pass on traditional knowledge, skills, and practices to younger generations.

Through cultural learning and knowledge transmission, SLTs contribute to safeguarding living traditions, cultural identities, and relationships with ancestral lands and natural resources.

These locations reflect documented cultural learning initiatives and partnerships over time and do not necessarily represent currently active projects or facilities directly managed by NTFP-EP Philippines.

Locations documented in connection with SLT-related initiatives include:
